Much ink has been spilled on the $150,000 (?) or so apparently spent on Sarah Palin's wardrobe and make-up... Folks have made a big deal of this, all the while apparently OK with the other amazing sums being spent in this election cycle... These range from other bagatelles, such as $667,000 for sound and lighting at Senator Obama's rally in Berlin... to the 'big picture' of Senator Obama's > $600 million raised/on track to be spent for the general election campaign, and the estimated total of $5.3 billion that is being spent in this election cycle for the presidential and Congressional elections! Wow! Look at this 'inflation rate!" If at least the public received real value for their money this would be OK, but it is not at all apparent that this happens!

Political inflation...
