A number of members of Congress (both from the House and Senate) went into the election cycle under investigation, being prosecuted, etc. The most notorious was Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK), who despite seven (felony) conviction counts of mis-reporting on Congressional financial reports appears to be winning re-election... Of the many who were under investigation, a few retired rather than run for re-election, but most of those who did run were re-elected, some handily... This blogger is not sure exactly what this says about the electorate in those constituencies...
