Consider the "sales job" for HR 3200 and "health care reform"... According to the President, the Democrats, and those in favor the proposed reform, this reform is essential for Americans and will control costs. Let's look at what the reforms include. The first is insurance:
- Employer-provided (or public option-provided) to all Americans, including most (but not all) of the 45 million currently uninsured.
- That is cheap, with low (and capped) deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- With no annual caps, no lifetime caps, no recissions, and with guaranteed renewals each year.
- With no exclusions or extra costs for pre-existing conditions.
- Full coverage at no charge for "preventive" care...
Hmm, perhaps the reality check that is required is not re stupidities such as "death panels," etc. Maybe the reality check that is needed is re the assumption that this will be accompanied by cost savings!
